Set up Midjourney for Visual Goal-Setting in 8 minutes
Configure Midjourney to create a personal health mood board that clarifies your annual goals.

A list of health goals can feel abstract and distant. A visual representation makes them concrete and tangible, providing a daily anchor for your intentions. This setup walks through creating specific images that represent your desired outcomes.
Before you start
- A Midjourney and Discord account
- A clear list of 3-5 health goals
- 10 quiet minutes
The steps
- 01
Isolate Your Core Concepts
Review your list of health goals—"run a 5k," "improve sleep quality," "read more." For each, extract the core visual or feeling. "Improve sleep" might become a serene, dark bedroom; "run a 5k" could be a focused runner at sunrise.
- 02
Draft Your First Prompt
In a Discord channel with the Midjourney bot, type `/imagine` followed by your prompt. Use a simple structure: STYLE - SUBJECT - SETTING. For the running goal, you might try: `documentary photo -- a man running on a coastal path at dawn, focused expression, cool tones --ar 16:9`.
- 03
Refine Style and Composition
Midjourney understands artistic direction. Add terms like `minimalist`, `graphic novel art`, or `shot on Portra 400 film` to refine the aesthetic. Use parameters like `--ar 16:9` to generate a desktop wallpaper or `--ar 2:3` for a phone background that keeps a goal front and center.
- 04
Visualize Abstract States
Some goals are feelings, not discrete actions. To visualize "less anxiety," you could prompt: `abstract painting, flowing shapes of deep blue and soft grey, sense of calm and release, minimalist`. This process turns an internal state into an external image, creating a visual entry for your health "Ledger".
- 05
Assemble Your Mood Board
Upscale your favorite generations for each goal. Collect the final images in a private gallery, on a physical pinboard, or as your device wallpaper. This becomes a visual expression of your annual "Protocol"—a constant reminder of the direction you have set for yourself.
Honest note
Midjourney is a tool for visualization, not validation. It generates compelling images from your prompts, but it cannot measure, diagnose, or confirm any health state. The images reflect your own inputs and biases, so for tracking progress or investigating symptoms, use a clinical tool or consult a professional.
