Set up Mem for unstructured health tracking in 10 minutes
Configure an AI-native workspace to ingest daily symptom logs, lab results, and protocol notes without manual filing.

Managing chronic symptoms or a complex supplement protocol usually requires rigorous spreadsheet maintenance. Mem removes the friction of filing by using AI to link related notes automatically. You can dump a quick sleep observation or a blood panel result into a blank note, and the system connects it to your broader baseline.
Before you start
- An active Mem account
- A recent set of PDF lab results or health notes
- 10 minutes of uninterrupted focus
The steps
- 01
Create your core ledger template
Go to Mem's template settings and build a daily log format. Keep it minimal: sleep quality, energy levels, supplements taken, and one line for open text. You will use this as the Ledger layer in the 3-Layer Method (Research, Ledger, Protocol), capturing raw data before you try to interpret it.
- 02
Forward your existing health records
Mem generates a custom email address for your account. Forward your latest PDF lab results, wearable weekly reports, or practitioner summaries directly to this address. The system parses the text and integrates the data into your timeline without requiring manual sorting or dedicated folders.
- 03
Tag your baseline protocols
Create a single note detailing your active interventions. If you take 400mg of magnesium bisglycinate at night, write it down and apply a #protocol tag. Later, when you log morning grogginess in a daily note, the AI retrieves your active protocol as context for your queries.
- 04
Query your history
Open the Mem Chat interface and test the retrieval engine with a natural language query. Ask a specific question based on your past entries, such as: 'When did I first mention joint pain, and what supplements was I taking at the time?' Review the sources the AI provides to verify accuracy.
- 05
Separate practitioner and client data
If you are a practitioner, use distinct tags for each individual client to maintain separation. Dump your unstructured session notes, then use the chat to run cross-client queries. Asking 'Which clients reported digestive issues after starting the new zinc protocol?' allows you to spot patterns across entirely separate files.
Honest note
Mem excels at surfacing forgotten connections in unstructured text, but it fails as a quantitative database. If you need to graph a specific biomarker like ApoB over a five-year period or run regressions on your heart rate variability, use a spreadsheet. The AI will also occasionally hallucinate links between distinct notes if your daily logs lack specific detail.
